I am a new user with a new computer and am having the same issues. can someone please please please give us a tutorial on the process, or tell me specifically which software is the solution for this problem. Pinnacle expression, which came w/ my system, does not seem to have a burn as disk option, nor does WMP from where I sit. This may be user error, believe me! Is nero or roxio's progrem more suitable? Help us poor souls out! Thanks!

Yes, the way to get rid of the pause is to burn the disc with the "Disc At Once" option. This burns all the tracks together, without the 2 second gap. Nero, Roxio, as well as some others have this option. This is the easiest solution to the issues you're having.

Ok, I'm using Nero Express, I clicked "Disk at once", clicked the box to eliminate spaces between tracks and just burned a disk. Although improved, the gap is STILL there although much less perceptible (i.e. shorter). Is this the best I can hpe for?

Yes.

It is possible that the files themselves are have slight pauses. This could be an issue with the way they were created. You can download several tools that will allow you to manipulate the files yourselves. (http://www.etree.org)

I see you are trying to burn from the mp3 source, right? Wavs decompressed from flac or shn lossless versions will generally burn smoothly with no gaps under disc-at-once (DAO) option. In contrast I've heard that mp3's can give tiny gaps even with DAO. (I've never tried mp3s so I can't verify that though.)

Use mp3 for test listens on computer, or for use on an mp3 player. But download the lossless version for proper CD burning/listening. You'll be glad you did as the quality is much nicer for CD. It's not just about the gaps. :)

Thanks much Diana. One more question. Do I need special software in order to download as you suggest?
